Our Fourth of July Weekend Getaway (2011)

Rikki and I hadn’t had a weekend out of Bummertown in a while, so we went and checked out Mount St. Helens, the Portland Blues Festival where we saw Buddy Guy, Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge, and then a small-town 4th of July in Yacolt, WA, where we experienced lawnmower racing. The weekend ended with a trip on the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad, a fun train ride through some pretty scenery and a tunnel, with a stop at a small waterfall along the way. Sorry, no fireworks.
